Biography :

Dr. Ameni Ben Salah is a PhD student in the Biorefinery Processes Research Group (BioRP) within the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the University of the Basque Country (EHU), Eibar, Gipuzkoa, Spain. She holds an Engineering degree in Energy Engineering and Environmental Technologies from the University of Gafsa, Tunisia. Her research focuses on biochar modification processes and their applications for sustainable environmental solutions, with the aim of enhancing environmental performance and improving resource efficiency. Her work explores the development of advanced biochar and activated carbon materials derived from lignocellulosic biomass for environmental remediation and resource recovery. Dr. Ben Salah has authored several scientific publications in the field, including A Competitive Approach for the Production of Activated Carbons from Lignocellulosic Biomass published in Clean Technologies and Environmental Policy, and Apple Pruning-Derived Activated Biochar and Hydrochar for Efficient Dye Adsorption: Response Surface Methodology-Guided Optimization, Kinetic Analysis, and Mechanistic Modelling published in MDPI Recycling. Through her research, she contributes to the advancement of sustainable technologies that support circular economy principles and innovative environmental management practices.
